2012 CUP FINAL

Its the Cup Final tomorrow, and not only is it not the last game of the English football season, the FA have even moved kick off to 5.15. Is nothing sacrosanct anymore?

The fabulous little label is taken from The London Transport Museum archive, from the days when the Cup Final was still a central part of the British sporting calendar. You can search the London Transport archive via theme, and there are lots more football related posters if your interested!

Typographic display font system

Ive had this display type kit for a while. Its a lovely thing! It came in the plastic tray, that you see here. While the font looks Thirties, the tray makes me think its much later.

Each letter slots in to the next, and has a small base. Ive always thought it was for a window display, perhaps a jewelers? but today for the first time it looks too big, as each letter has a height of 20mm!

Ive got a few other signage kits, like this. Ill try and post the others at a later date.

Airline Souvenir banners

When I recently found these I was reminded of the Caravan Club banners I listed earlier. They look like they should have hung in a travel agent in the 1960s. Each flag is printed on felt and measures 12". I still havent found a good place to display them. So for now here will have to do!

Thought you might like these? Seven Small tin advertising signs that clipped onto advertising stands that stood next to the shop till. The signs are just a bit bigger than the original chewing gum packets and judging by the prices date from the mid to late seventies.

Those were the days when you could still buy a Bubbly for a penny, and before Bubalicious and Space Dust swept the nation!
